Ocean Grove design Blade House makes use of the available space in it’s urban setting to ensure privacy, connectedness and room to grow for a young family.
Feature packed with an abundance of natural materials, the home uses sharp lines balanced with texture and warmth to create a strong presence from the street and internally.
Rammed earth features throughout the length of the home draw together the inside and outside. Raked ceilings throughout the open plan kitchen, living and dining space create a sense of scale and allow feature skylights and windows to stream natural light into every corner.
Site restrictions made yard and open spaces challenging however the homes shape intentionally creates an internal courtyard that flows directly from the living space and also allows northern light into the master bedroom. With privacy at a premium, the standout feature of the facade, and the homes namesake privacy blade, creates a secluded retreat from the kitchen, despite its orientation to the street.
