On Christmas Day 2015 bushfires took hold along the Great Ocean Road, claiming more than 115 homes across Wye River and Separation Creek. Whilst much of the area is still being reconstructed, we have been honoured to design for this rebuild in Wye River.
This stunning home will be nestled on the ridge directly above the Great Ocean Road. In keeping with the previous home, the existing structural footprint has been maintained with materials carefully selected for their fire resistance as well as coastal appearance.
The challenge of this design comes in the form of capitalising on the stunning views whilst complying with energy rating requirements. Accordingly, our clients have been left with decks across multiple viewing aspects and carefully positioned glazing to capture the ‘best of all worlds’.
